Kalwaria Zebrzydowska
The Basilica and Culture and Lanscape Complex of the Bernardine Monastery and Pilgrims` Park in Kalwaria Zebrzydowska were included to UNESCO World Heritage List in 1999.
Moreover, the 17th century Baroque church is known for the miraculous painting of Our Lady of Kalwaria Zebrzydowska. That is why the sanctuary is visited by the thousands of pilgrims yearly. Most of them participate in the famous Passion mysteries during the Passion Week and the church festivity of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin on 15th August.
The sanctuary used to be visited very often by John Paul II, when He was a child, a priest, a bishop, an archbishop and the Pope.
Kalwaria Zebrzydowska is located on the way to Wadowice, so there is possibility to visit both sites during one trip.
