Łagiewniki - the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy
The Sanctuary of Divine Mercy in Łagiewniki (a part of Krakow) is one of the most often visited sanctuaries in Poland. Millions of pilgrims arrive here yearly to pray in front of the painting of Jesus the Merciful.
The whole complex consists of the closter, the old church where are located the relics of St. Sister Faustina (the herald of Divine Mercy) and a new, huge Basilica with an 80-metre -high tower (the highest panorama point in Krakow).
On 17th of August 2002, John Paul II consecrated the newly built Basilica and devoted the whole World to the Divine Mercy.
